Coptic Cairo is a part of Old Cairo which include structures elements for the three heavenly religious (Jewish ,Christianity and Islam ) encompasses the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George and many other Coptic churches and Amr Ibn Alas mosque .It's believed that the Holy Family visited this area and stayed at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church. Coptic Cairo was a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era, though most of the current buildings of the churches in Coptic Cairo were built after the Muslim conquest of Egypt.(The citadel )is an Iconic Islamic monument. It was built by the great sultan Salahudin. Later, it was used as a place of residents for the Muslim rulers till the 19th century . In the citadel there is a famous landmark and very unique architecture of a mosque, which is the Alabaster Mosque, built by Mohamed Ali Pasha around 1830 and took 19 years to be built.
